About Us

Isometrik.AI is a next-gen AI platform designed for mid-market companies to build, orchestrate, and scale AI teams. Our system powers advanced real-time chat, calling, live-streaming, and multi-channel campaign execution (voice, email, WhatsApp).
The core engine is built on Elixir (Phoenix) with a distributed data layer comprising CitusDB and MongoDB, running on modern Kubernetes infrastructure.
We are growing fast and looking for a strong backend engineer who can help maintain, optimize, and evolve our real-time systems.

Role Overview

You will be a key contributor responsible for enhancing our Elixir-based real-time engine, improving system reliability, and building new features across chat, live-stream, calling infra, sockets, and campaign orchestration workflows.
This is a hands-on role with significant ownership in a high-scale, low-latency environment.

Key Responsibilities

Build & maintain Elixir/Phoenix services that power chat, calling, streaming, and campaign execution.
Optimize real-time communication pipelines using MQTT (preferred) or similar protocols.
Work with distributed databases — CitusDB (PostgreSQL extension) and MongoDB — including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Improve system scalability through clustering, message queues, supervision trees, and concurrent processing patterns in Elixir/OTP.
Manage Kubernetes deployments — CI/CD pipelines, scaling strategies, monitoring & observability.
Collaborate with AI, front-end, and DevOps teams to ship features rapidly.
Debug production issues, implement fail-safe mechanisms, and ensure uptime of mission-critical systems.
Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews & architectural discussions.

Required Skills & Experience

3–8 years of backend development, with at least 2+ years in Elixir/Phoenix.
Strong understanding of OTP, GenServers, PubSub, Channels, distributed systems.
Experience with real-time messaging protocols — ideally MQTT.
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL / CitusDB and MongoDB.
Solid exposure to Docker & Kubernetes for large-scale deployments.
Experience with event-driven architectures, microservices, or high-concurrency systems.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup-style environment.

Nice to Have

Experience with WebRTC, SIP, or telephony/calling infrastructure.
Experience managing high throughput messaging systems at scale.
Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
Contributions to open-source Elixir libraries.
