Elixir Engineer
Location: Remote – Portugal (Requirement)
Job Overview
We're looking for an Elixir Engineer to join a fast-moving integrations team at a leading SaaS platform. You'll build and operate the connectors that tie the platform to the tools customers rely on daily like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and more across APIs, webhooks, and OAuth. You'll own your work end-to-end, from design through production, and use AI as a natural part of how you engineer.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and ship backend services, APIs, and webhooks that power customer-facing integrations
Maintain highly available, scalable systems across multiple languages and protocols
Integrate with third-party platforms, including Slack and Microsoft Teams
Collaborate with engineers across teams to raise the quality bar throughout the full development lifecycle
Required Skills
4+ years of designing and operating large-scale backend systems
Strong Elixir experience (functional programming mindset essential)
Strong knowledge of React
Solid experience with third-party API integrations, webhooks, and OAuth
Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred)
Proven track record with distributed, highly available systems
Nice to Have
Experience with integrating platforms with Slack, Teams, Jira, or Salesforce
Familiarity with databases and streaming tools (MySQL, Aurora, Kafka, NoSQL)
Experience building public-facing APIs
