How the Elixir Job Matcher scores jobs
Every open listing on HexHire comes with a tech stack extracted from the job description. The matcher keeps the skills employers actually screen for (Phoenix, LiveView, OTP, PostgreSQL, cloud and front-end tools) and ignores generic tags like "Git". Your fit score for a job is the share of that stack you already cover, so a job asking for Elixir, Phoenix, PostgreSQL and Kafka scores 75% if you know three of the four. Jobs at 50% or higher count as a match: that is the range where hiring managers routinely interview candidates who can learn the rest.
Location works the way remote hiring does. Choosing Europe includes jobs restricted to Europe or the EU plus everything open worldwide; choosing the US includes US and North America roles. The "Learn next" suggestions count how many jobs you currently miss would cross the 50% line if you added one more skill.

Frequently asked questions
How does the Elixir Job Matcher work?
It compares the skills you pick with the tech stack of every open Elixir job listed on HexHire. A job's fit score is the share of its recognized stack you already cover, and anything at 50% or above counts as a match. Level and location filters remove jobs you could not apply to.
Is the Elixir job matcher free? Do I need an account?
It is free and needs no signup. Nothing you select is stored; your choices live in the page URL, so you can bookmark or share a result.
What skills do Elixir jobs ask for besides Elixir?
Among open listings the most requested companions to Elixir are Phoenix (43%), PostgreSQL (41%), AWS (26%), React (26%). Cloud and container experience (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) shows up mostly in senior roles.
Can I get a remote Elixir job outside the US?
Yes. Pick your region and the matcher includes both jobs restricted to that region and jobs open worldwide. Europe and the UK have the most region-specific Elixir openings after the US.
Are there junior Elixir jobs?
A few. 28 of the 253 active listings are explicitly junior or internship roles; most Elixir hiring targets mid and senior engineers. Choose Junior in the matcher to see the ones that fit you.
How much do Elixir jobs pay?
The median advertised salary across active Elixir listings is $110,350 per year. The matcher shows the pay range of the jobs that fit you whenever at least three of them disclose a salary.
