Software Engineer II (Backend)
About the role
We engineer the backend architecture powering RevZilla, Cycle Gear, and J&P Cycles, managing a Phoenix application backed by a legacy Ruby core. Our team is currently executing a phased migration to systematically transition legacy Ruby logic into high-performance Elixir, while supporting day-to-day business needs. We are looking for an experienced Elixir developer to join us in delivering quality software in service of our mission to advance the experience of powersports enthusiasts across the globe.
Our Next Software Engineer II Will:
- Have full-stack development capacity with a strong backend focus on system migration and architecture, thriving in a fast-paced, delivery-oriented team.
- Collaborate with technical leadership and stakeholders to implement core system functionality.
- Apply a deep understanding of Elixir/Phoenix to build and optimize business-centric backend services.
Our Next Software Engineer II Has:
- Proven production experience with Elixir/Phoenix.
- Experience with source control and CI/CD within a team setting.
- Experience with automated unit and integration testing.
- Experience with SQL/Postgres or Ecto.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with legacy system modernization, focusing on Ruby to Elixir migration
- Ruby/Rails experience
- Familiarity with Docker, Codespaces/other remote development environments
