About the role

About the job

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong fundamentals and self-management skills to join us at a rapid growth stage and help us serve an ever-increasing customer base. This role is instrumental in expanding the scope and impact of our flagship product on the UK's primary healthcare.

You will work on a complex Elixir system in an agile, self-organising team that treats each other with kindness and shows up for one another. Pair programming is actively encouraged. The work is a genuine mix: building new features that make BetterLetter materially better for the practices using it, shaping product decisions with the rest of the team, and contributing to the integrations with NHS document transfer technologies that keep the product working in the real world. You'll be involved across the full product development process, not handed a backlog.

Salary range

Competitive (specific band shared at the introductory call).

Qualifications and experience required

  • At least 5 years of production software development experience
  • Demonstrated expertise developing production applications at scale
  • Working knowledge of Elixir and technology stack
  • Solid grounding in test automation and agile engineering practice — Clean Code, SOLID, coupling and cohesion, CI/CD
  • Familiarity with containerisation and cloud-based, service-oriented infrastructure
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Able to take a project from requirements to production independently in an Agile setting

Useful, but not required

  • Robotic Process Automation
  • Professional Python experience
  • FHIR or other healthcare data exchange standards

What you will be working on

A successful applicant will work on our flagship product BetterLetter. Most of the work is making the product better for the practices that rely on it: shipping new features, improving existing ones, and shaping where the product goes next with the rest of the engineering team. Some of the work is integration. BetterLetter lives inside the NHS document ecosystem, so a portion of any senior engineer's time goes into the interfaces with NHS document transfer technologies and our Python-based RPA.

Hybrid Working

This role is only open to candidates living and working in the UK due to the nature of the data we handle. We are a hybrid company with a central London office, and our hybrid working is flexible, there's no fixed number of office days, and we trust people to find the rhythm that works for them and their team. For the right candidate we're open to fully remote within the UK.

About the interview process

Our process starts with an introductory call, followed by a take-home task that we discuss together in a technical interview. The final stage is a conversation with a couple of our engineers about your skills and to get to know you a bit better.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Company pension
  • 25 days of paid annual leave (pro-rata)
  • A fun and flexible hybrid working environment
  • Mental health support through Health Assured

Strictly no agencies, please.

Dyad's mission is to improve the delivery and efficiency of healthcare.

We are building a platform to model and manage the flow of information within healthcare organisations, improving outcomes for patients, payers, and healthcare providers. We believe data handling in current healthcare systems is needlessly complex and disconnected, leading to isolated and inefficient decision making. To showcase how this technology can advance the delivery of healthcare and improve lives, we build and deploy products for healthcare providers and payers into the UK and US markets.

Dyad is an energetic, health-tech startup, currently around forty employees. Our team is growing as we explore new markets and opportunities. We are passionate about technology and its applications in worthwhile ventures. New joiners will have a significant impact on the direction of the company, as well as our culture.

Our productsDyad's Platform:

Dyad's products are founded upon our Semantic AI platform, which enables payers and providers to access cutting-edge AI capabilities for their own use cases and applications. Our partners either use the platform APIs directly or work with us to develop applications for their use cases. For more information, please see our Platform page.

Primary care operations: Dyad develops a suite of products for healthcare operations, including:

  • BetterLetter, our AI tool helping practices decrease their admin burden in processing clinical letters. We use this to reduce staff time spent identifying codes to be applied to the record as well as suggesting follow-up tasks and workflow optimisations. BetterLetter helps providers save time, save cost, improve performance under audit and build staffing resilience.

Company

Dyad AI builds AI-powered healthcare data intelligence platforms and BetterLetter, an AI-powered document-processing tool used by NHS primary care practices in the UK. The company focuses on transforming unstructured healthcare data into actionable insights to improve efficiency, coding accuracy, and patient outcomes; products include BetterLetter and related healthcare data solutions.
