Elixir Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking an Elixir Engineer to support a growing client in the software development industry in the United States. The Elixir Engineer role is fully remote. The Elixir Engineer role is ideal for a backend-focused developer with 3+ years of experience building scalable applications using Elixir and modern distributed system practices.

Responsibilities of the Elixir Engineer include:

Build and enhance backend services using Elixir and the Phoenix framework to support core product functionality.
Design reliable and scalable system components with a focus on concurrency and fault tolerance.
Implement and maintain APIs and microservices that integrate with internal and external systems.
Partner with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps to deliver high-quality solutions.
Troubleshoot performance issues and continuously improve system efficiency and stability.

Requirements of the Elixir Engineer include:

3+ years of backend development experience with hands-on exposure to Elixir or other functional programming languages.
Working knowledge of SQL with experience using PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
Familiarity with event streaming platforms such as Kafka is a plus.
Experience with AWS cloud services and version control systems such as GitHub.
Exposure to Python is preferred, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Compensation for the Elixir Engineer include:

$105,000 - $120,000 annually
