Description:
- Dscout is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (polyglot) to help build and scale new AI-first products.
- The role involves leading the full tech stack and evolving engineering practices.
- The engineer will spend about 70% of their time supporting product teams and 30% on leadership tasks and platform improvements.
- Responsibilities include driving continuous process improvement, architectural evolution, and mentoring other engineers.
- The engineer will apply a DevOps mindset to enhance the Continuous Delivery pipeline and participate in security and compliance efforts.
- The position requires expertise in either Elixir or Python, with a strong desire to work across the stack.
- Working hours are expected to be from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM CT, with flexibility as needed.
Requirements:
- Candidates must have 10+ years of experience as a software engineer, with some experience in Principal/Staff roles or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience with Elixir or Python is required.
- Strong experience in system architecture, including application design, databases, and DevOps/infrastructure design, is essential.
- A proven track record of leading, mentoring, and growing engineers is necessary.
- Some experience with AI-driven coding is preferred.
- Expertise in cloud-based SaaS architectures and evolutionary design is required.
- Candidates should be able to work across the full stack, with a focus on backend development and a strong understanding of frontend technologies.
- Familiarity with agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and data-driven decision-making is important.
- Experience collaborating with security/compliance teams and working with US-based companies is also required.
